Meet the Presenters
Jon Beck played 4 years of Division 1 college basketball at Arkansas State and was a graduate assistant coach at the D-1 level. He has coached AAU, youth, middle and high school boy’s and girl’s basketball. He has worked Nike Elite camps and was a skills development coach for Pure Sweat Basketball for 5 years. Through his own company, Jon Beck Basketball, he uses a dynamic, non-traditional Constraints Led Approach to skill adaptation with his individual, small group and team training as well as his skills academies and team clinics in Northwest Arkansas and around the country.
Skip Brock is beginning his 40th year as a basketball coach. He currently is the Head Boys Coach at Jasper MO High School, beginning his 2nd season leading the Eagles. Teams that Brock has led have accumulated 493 wins, made 3 Final Four Appearances, and won 10 District Championships, and 8 Conference Championships. In 2016, Brock was inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Terry is entering his 50th season coaching basketball. Those 50 years include: 7 years as a high school JV coach, 33 years as a head high school coach and 10 years as an assistant coach at Lindenwood University. Coach Hollander has 600 winds in his high school coaching career and has been elected into 4 Hall of Fames. Terry is entering his 10th season as an assistant at Lindenwood University.
Michael Schieber has been the head boys basketball coach at Lee's Summit West High School since 2004. He is the only coach in the school's history. He has amassed over 300 wins in his career, has 8 conference titles, 8 district titles, and 3 final fours. During his tenure at the school his teams have averaged 18 wins a season.
Kent Thomas is an owner/director of operations for Mid-Missouri along with the operator of The Shot Doctor for Tri Lakes Shootout. Throughout his coaching career Kent has coached at both the college and high school levels at multiple places including Hannibal LaGrange College, Missouri Baptist University, Jackson Central-Merry, Rolla, Cuba & Versailles. Along the way numerous awards have been earned for Kent: AMC College Coach of the Year, District 12- Tennessee Coach of the Year& conference championship teams while at Cuba and Versailles. Kent is currently retired from coaching basketball and is teaching at Versailles High School.
Steve has coached high school basketball for 28 years, 9 years as a high school boys coach and 19 as a high school girls coach. In those 28 years he has compiled an over-all record of 533 wins and 176 losses. Steve played basketball for College of the Ozarks and was inducted into the College of the Ozarks Hall of Fame in 2007. Steve was inducted into the MBCA Hall of Fame in 2019. He was named the Mid-West Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019. At this current time Steve is the Middle School Assistant Principal at Strafford High School and serves as the Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at College of the Ozarks over the past two seasons.
With over 28 combined years as a player, coach, and an athlete development specialist, Coach Ryan Johnson has developed a dynamic Men’s Basketball Program at CRCP that also stems from his years as the Assistant Head Coach at CBC from 2014-2017 and the Assistant
Head Coach at Soldan from 2010-2012. Through his training company W.I.T.T.S.(Whatever It Takes To Succeed Training Academy), Johnson has also trained over 50 professional athletes and over 200 NCAA athletes. This 2022-23 season marks Ryan Johnson’s 5th year as CRCP’s head coach.
A member of Evangel's 2002 NAIA National Championship team during his standout playing career, Capel became the eighth head coach in Evangel history. Before the EU head coaching position, Bert had a wealth of coaching experience at Evangel, Florida State, Stetson and Jacksonville College. Over the last two seasons, Capel has played a pivotal role in elevating Evangel's on-court success, including helping EU post a 10-win turnaround in 2019-20, marking its best single-season win improvement in 14 years.
During his 26 years as a high school coach, Darin Meinders took teams to 6 Final Fours, 10 State Quarterfinals, 13 District Championships, 12 Conference Championships and 2 State Championships, one in each gender. His Career Record was 540 -213, winning 71.7% of his games. He was inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in April of 2019. After a stellar High School coaching career, Coach Meinders accepted the Athletic Director/Head Men’s Basketball position on March 24th, 2019. Coach Meinders record at Baptist Bible College is now 59-16, in just three years, for a .787 winning percentage. His overall record in 29 years of coaching is 599-229 for a .723 winning percentage.
Coach Hair enters his 35th season as a head high school coach and his 27th season as the boys’ varsity basketball coach at Shawnee Mission East High School in the Kansas City area. Shawn has recorded over 475 wins as a head
high school coach - placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, in the largest classification (6A) in Kansas. Shawn was selected 2006 KC Metro Coach of the Year after guiding the Lancers to a 2nd place finish at the state tournament. Shawn has won mulitple coaching awards and has taken the Lancers to state numerous times. Before Shawnee Mission East, Shawn was a head basketball coach in Missouri for eight years – two at King City High School, two at Branson High School, and four at Ozark High School.
John Vickers played at William Jewell. He was a varsity assistant at Liberty, MO HS for 9 years. He then became the head coach at William Chrisman HS in Independence, MO for 15 years. While at William Chrisman he lead his teams to both conference and district championships. John has won honors in conference, area and district coach of the year as a coach. His teams at William Chrisman set various school records, and made marks on Missouri state records list as well as national records. John retired 4 years ago as teacher, coach and principal after 29 years. He will be the head coach at Fordland High School this upcoming season. Along with coaching he also travels around as a clinic speaker in the US and internationally.
